Kitchen Towel Rack Placment - Not as Easy as You Think

Where to put a towel rack in your kitchen? This isn’t as easy as you might think. I have found that towel racks are typically placed in very inconvenient locations because it was either forgotten about in the original design or it was placed for aesthetics and not functionality. It’s a shame when you walk into a kitchen that is designed to every detail, but after you wash your hands you have to walk across the room, dripping water as you go, just to dry your hands.

For example, this is a beautiful kitchen in so many aspects, but there is no towel rack next to the kitchen sink. So what happens, the hand towel is draped across the edge of the sink and on the oven handle. Why? Because these are locations that are next to the sink.

Same goes for this kitchen:

Here are some ideas as to where to place a hand towel holder in your kitchen.

In this kitchen the rack is right next to the sink, hanging from the side of cabinet. If you don’t have enough space for a rack in this location, try a towel ring. Rings work just as well and are ideal for small spaces. Before deciding on how high to place the towel holder keep in mind not to hang it too high so that younger children can still reach the towel.

And my favorite placement of a towel holder is in this kitchen. It is low enough so that younger children can reach it on  their own, it is directly next to the sink and it's out of the way so you won't bump into it while walking around the kitchen.
