Pull Knobs

Get Function and Style for Your Cabinets with Pull Knobs

There are numerous types of cabinet hardware that can help you open and close your cabinet doors and drawers. Sometimes when a cabinet or drawer is too small to easily accommodate a pull visually, a knob makes the most sense.

But what happens when knobs are too difficult to use on a heavy drawer, even when the size of them is the better fit? Because sometimes pulls can be easier to grip than knobs, the answer in these cases is to use a hybrid or a pull knob.

Pull knobs have a single stem or base requiring only one hole drilling, but instead of a round or square knob on the end, they have a long bar similar to a pull. It’s possible to wrap fingers over the top of the pull knob to get a better grip, while still taking up less space on the cabinet or drawer.

Because pull knobs only require a single drilling to function, they can often be the perfect answer for cabinets and furniture that already have knobs in place. Rather than needing to fill and redrill to gain the function of a pull, you can swap out your existing knobs for a pull knob with little problem. This way you can keep the style and visual minimalist of the knob, but with the function and easier use of a pull.

Pull knobs come in a variety of different styles and finishes. The most common design is the T-pull, which has a short stem and a horizontal cross bar on the top. The T-pull can be plain or decorative, with twists, rope designs, and Tuscan designs available. Other types of pull knobs are more subtle, with pyramid shapes, as well as classic rectangle designs. All of these can be found in a variety of finishes from glass to pewter, so you can find the perfect fit for your home.
